Melbourne Early Childhood Intervention

Meet Dean

Dean is the Early Childhood Interventionist at Melbourne Early Childhood Intervention.

An Early Childhood Teacher with over a decade of experience in early childhood education and disability, Dean has worked in a range of environments. These include mainstream and special education schools, metropolitan and rural kindergartens, and family homes. This has equipped him well to assist children and their families through their early education journeys, particularly in regard to inclusion and best pedagogical practice.

His approach is holistic - focusing on all parts of a child's learning and development - and centres on interventions that are responsive and adaptable to his learner’s needs and goals. His practice emphasises the social elements of learning, beginning most importantly with the inclusion and participation of all children in their learning spaces.

Dean holds an undergraduate degree in Linguistics and Philosophy, and a postgraduate degree in Early Childhood Education. He is a registered teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
